VLAN Configuration
Section titled “VLAN Configuration”VLANs separate traffic by function. The 3560-CX provides Layer 3 gateways via SVIs.
- Management VLAN: Switch management, Proxmox, out-of-band access.
- Lab VLANs: EVE-NG bridges, LXC containers, physical test endpoints.
- 802.1Q trunking: Gi0/1 on the 2960 carries tagged VLANs to the 3560-CX core.
Current Status
Section titled “Current Status”VLAN databases and SVIs are provisioned on the 3560-CX. Access VLAN assignments on the 2960 are in the backlog.
Trunking
Section titled “Trunking”- Core ↔ Access: 802.1Q trunk on Gi0/1 (2960) to the 3560-CX.
- Core ↔ Compute: Physical ports on the 3560-CX bridged to Proxmox NICs for EVE-NG integration.
EtherChannel / LACP configuration will be documented here when uplinks are aggregated.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Layer 1 Failure: Autonegotiation & Auto-MDIX — Link failure from hardcoded speed on the Catalyst 2960.
